The first made-in-Bangladesh electric vehicle is going to be launched very soon in the market. The manufacturer has named it “PALKI.” PALKI indicates an old, shoulder-carrying, traditional carrier that was used to carry the bride from her house to the groom’s house on the wedding day. By the way, the size of the vehicle will be smaller than normal sedan cars on the market, about 9 feet in length.

A total of 4 persons can ride at a time along with the driver in Palki. All the modern comfort facilities like an air conditioning system, sound system, video displays, Bluetooth, and many more are available in the car. Palki will not run on diesel but with electricity. So, it will be a great milestone for Bangladesh in the era of green vehicles. The body and chassis of the car are made in Bangladesh, and other parts are sourced from China, and motors are sourced from Taiwan. All these spares are assembled in Bangladesh. The manufacturer announced that the car can go almost 150 km in one go with a single charge of 2 hours. In this case, the cost per Km will be only 57 paisa. The recently launched model of Palki costs 6 lakh Tk, and the next one’s price will be announced after launching.

Palki has already received 22 pre-bookings from users, which gave a very positive indication to the manufacturer. The first lot will be delivered in April, and the second in September. Palki Motors is working at full capacity at Badda in Dhaka in their own industry to manufacture the targeted production of vehicles.
